  1. Has there been any progress to removing the disruptive advertisements? Got one today on my phone causing a redirect to Mobile Strike. If this is not resolved, I will Definitely be packing my bags for good, as the site is just being way too inconvenient.

    1. Hey JC. Thanks for touching base. I’m not clear what you mean by “disruptive advertisements”? Yes, there are ads on the site, both in the header, footer, sides and in the middle of articles. This is part of how the site pays for all of the content and functionality we provide. The ads themselves will be displayed based on your own viewing habits online, so we have no control over which specific ads you see. Let us know what specifically is preventing you from digesting the content and we’ll have a look. Cheers.

      1. Hi James,

My guess here is that Jc99 is referring to the occasional mobile ad that renders as a redirect to other sites. Taking us away from your content entirely.

These are bad, as they take the traffic away from your site and discourage users from returning.

I would suggest you look into options with your ad provider to block these types of ads.

        Thanks!

      2. This. These advertisements not only exit you out of the web browser, but force you to the App Store and can even damage the web browser app. I have Never visited any site that warrants displaying stuff like this, so this is definitely something on your end. Perhaps an alternative should be pursued if you cannot resolve this issue.

      3. James and I have been talking about this as a result of these comments. We hate those types of ads as much as you guys do, and I’ve had to stop visiting specific websites in the past because of them. James is reaching out to the ad partners to see what our options are.

      4. Thanks for the update. It’s still goin on today with a redirect to twitter. Which I have never visited on this phone.
