  1. I love listening to the podcast but any of the prices from Europe are always a hard sell. I feel very few of us have reliable contacts in Europe to take advantage of this advice and because of that it does very little to help us out. Would love to hear if there is a way to take advantage of this aspect of mtg finance

    1. I second this-I think that any pick that requires an overseas contact (which is not realistic to have for most of us) should not be in the pick list.

      Also, to the authors:
Is it too much of a hassle to include time stamps in the podcast segments? Would help save a lot of time if we’re just interested in one pick or two.

      1. Why do you consider an EU contact unrealistic? Knock on a few doors and you might be surprised. I have a few names but they’d be swamped if I pass them around.

    2. RE: Europe, those picks represent some of the best options for speculators at present but I won’t be dropping them every week. That being said it really isn’t that tough to find a trading partner over there. Put the word out in the forums, on Facebook and Twitter, and you’ll figure something out pretty quick.

  2. Great take guys. Only point I’m not completely on board with is how hard Damnation is going to tank, and I’m a believer in its rebound potential. If it drops as far as you guys think I’m certainly going to get in on a bunch.

Question as well. What do you guys think of Crystalline Crawler? I like its potential beyond atraxa decks and supply is low on TCGplayer.

    1. This set is packed to the gills with strong cards, there’s a lot of supply, and Damnation has a fairly low supply profile. Time will tell, I suppose. The real question is how much product is out there.

We like Crystalline Crawler quite a bit, in fact, it was my pick of the week a few weeks ago!

  3. What are your predictions on Mox Opal? I’m very torn about this card. I fear it will spike due to exclusion from MM17. On the other hand, part of me also fears that this card is on its way to the chopping block soon. It always seems to be on the short list of ‘problematic’ cards in Modern and seems to achieve this label in multiple decks. In my mind, it checks a lot of the very same boxes Gitaxian Probe did. What do you guys think?

    1. The card is going to rise (and did). Theoretically we could see prices pushing $100, as we have with Liliana, but the MM2015 printing makes that much tougher. I’d expect $50 to $70 to be the price for the foreseeable future.

As far as getting banned, it’s certainly in the top five cards. At the moment though, it’s not doing anything dangerous. Affinity is “ok” at best, and no other decks are abusing it to the point of it harming the format. We’re much more likely to see Simian Spirit Guide go before they axe Opal.
