Duel Decks Prices Added!

Duel Decks: Izzet vs Golgari - Life From the Loam card

You asked us to add all of the small, special printings and mini sets. As part of our commitment to you, our users, we just added prices for all of the Duel Decks! We will add From the Vault prices tomorrow and will then get started gathering data on judge promos and other special cards.

First of the new features chosen by you, our users!

Thanks to some initial votes on our feedback site (http://mtgprice.uservoice.com/forums/151150-general) we’ve decided to start work on an import function for mtgprice.com, followed by a new feature to track the prices of buylists from all major vendors.

If you haven’t already, please stop by http://mtgprice.uservoice.com/forums/151150-general and help us shape the future of mtgprice.com!

Magic Core Set 2013 (M13) is live (and bugs are fixed!)

M13 cards have now been added! http://www.mtgprice.com/spoiler_lists/M13

You should be able to add them to your collections immediately.

More generally, our goal from this point onwards is to have new sets up and running by the Thursday before the pre-release so that you can trade during the day with certainty about how much a card is worth. We are also going through odd sets like the “versus” releases and the individual DCI, FNM and arena cards and adding them in – aiming for around 1 week from now for those.

Also we have fixed a few major issues – you should see most vendors have prices on most cards once again. Also, if you have signed up for the early beta to track your collection, adding a new card should have more detailed card incformation (rarity, color and casting cost as well as type) – this information will be added to the set lists within the next day or two.

As always, please keep filing bugs and voting on issues – we greatly value your feedback!

EDIT: Please note that prices won’t return to normal (with all vendors) until tomorrow.

Lots of small improvements

We added lots of small improvements and bug fixes this morning. Some examples:

  • Ebay prices for certain big cards were misleading. For example, we found an alpha black lotus for $2.95 plus $15,000 shipping. With thinly-traded cars, we often have to rely on a simply average of list prices. The ebay prices were throwing this average off so we added some more sanity checks to ensure that the Fair Trade Price really is a fair one.
  • By default, we now don’t show any vendor on the graph that currently has zero items in stock. You can see how much the vendor charged historically by clicking the checkbox next to that vendor’s name.
  • We significantly (around 1000%) increased the speed of certain key pages. Ultimately, our goal is to have every page on the site fully loaded in your browser in less than 2 seconds, including images.

Other than that, we’re working hard on bringing the collection/ wish list tracking with alerts. The plan is to open this up to people who have signed up to be early beta testers within the next week and to everyone a few days after that.

Good trading to all of you!
